Step-by-step tutorial
Step 1
Assemble your ingredients. You can use fruit yogurt (the pink varieties are usually strawberry, raspberry, or cherry flavored) or you can throw some plain yogurt into a blender with a handful of strawberries, raspberries, or pitted cherries and puree until smoothly blended. Add a little honey to sweeten. Today, we used some dye-free strawberry-flavored yogurt from the grocery store.
Step 2
Lay the cookie cutters on a sheet of wax paper on a baking sheet. Be smarter than me: Make sure the cookie sheet fits into your freezer before you do this step. (If you forget, you can be like me and gently slide the sheet of wax paper with filled cookie cutters onto a more appropriately sized cookie sheet. Oops.) Then have the kiddos spoon the yogurt into the cookie cutters, spreading it to fill all areas of the cookie cutter mold.
Step 3
Carefully slide the baking sheet into the freezer. We checked ours about an hour later and they were completely solid. Perhaps even less time would have sufficed.
Step 4
Let frozen yogurt treats sit on the counter for two to three minutes to soften slightly, so they will be easy to pop out of the cookie cutter molds.
Done!
Eat and enjoy your sweet and pretty Valentine's snack!
